Texas Lactation Consultants, Inc. is a practice that was started by the mother-and-daughter team, Barb and Faith. Long before she had Faith, Barb was helping families with their lactation struggles. After passing her expertise onto her daughter, the pair built a team of other passionate International Board Certified Lactation Consultants. Now, they’re here to meet you wherever you need them so you can have assistance and find success.
Services
With your initial consultation, you will spend tons of time chatting with your consultant from Texas Lactation Consultants. They recommend that you carve out 2-3 hours for an honest conversation. Their visits are exceptionally thorough. They will get to know you and your baby’s health history and your labor and delivery experience. They will perform an examination of your breasts as well as a physical exam of your baby.
Finally, after they have all the info they need, they will observe a feeding and provide you with gentle notes and suggestions on how to improve. By the end, you will have a customized plan and referrals to any specialists should you need them. If you do need a follow-up, these visits will last 1.5-2 hours. You can complete both visits either at home or in their office. For follow-ups, they can offer Telehealth options.

In addition to their consultations, Texas Lactation Consultants has individualized services to give you the best chance at success. You can schedule private, one-on-one classes throughout pregnancy to prepare you for everything you should expect before labor. If you are planning to return to work, they can work with you to teach you how to pump exclusively. They also offer pump and scale rentals so you can monitor your baby every step of the way.
