Houston Heirloom Photography

Within 10 business days of your session, you will receive your proof gallery containing soft-edited proofs. From there, you select your five favorite expressions for final editing. Once final edits are completed, an updated gallery with final edited proofs will be provided. You may order prints, high-resolution digital files, and custom framing options if desired, along with any additional a la carte prints you may wish to add. If you selected the Lifestyle Add-On, the opportunity to review and purchase lifestyle images will be available upon delivery of the final heirloom proofs.

Schedule your session during your child’s typical wake time; do not schedule during nap time. Ensure your child is healthy and well-fed. Wipe away all boogies thirty minutes before the session; we do not want red noses at their session. Brush their teeth before the session so there is no leftover food in their sweet smile.  

White and cream/ivory shades photograph exceptionally well, offering a crisp and clean look in the images. In black and white photos, darker colors translate to various shades of grey, so lighter tones are recommended. Consider white or cream, soft pink, or blue dresses/bubbles for girls with delicate smocking or details, and Peter Pan collared shirts or other traditional tops for boys. Feltman Brothers is a popular brand for this portrait style. If you're uncertain about what might photograph well, please feel free to email me a quick photo of your chosen outfit.

Heirloom photography sessions are about 30 min. Since little ones do not have a long attention span, I work quickly to get all the angles and expressions of your sweet little one. 

You may bring a small toy or lovey for your child to hold during the session. This can help them feel comfortable and relaxed. Please bring a comb or brush to fix any misplaced hair. Hair is not easily fixed in editing. 
  

The best age for heirloom photography is around 10 months to 10 years. If you have a young child, you may sit near your child, this makes them feel more comfortable during the session.  

An heirloom photo is a traditional style of photography that showcases your child’s sweet expressions and innocence of childhood. Heirloom Portraits are edited to give an angelic feel in a vignette style. These portraits are a Southern favorite and are meant to be passed down through generations. 

If you or your little one are feeling unwell on or shortly before your session day, please notify me as soon as possible. Rescheduling due to illness will not incur any penalties, provided that notice is given at least 2 hours before your scheduled session. Notices received after this timeframe will be subject to the rescheduling policy outlined at the time of booking.
